Gametime this weekend

Its with great plesure and hard work we are looking forward to this coming weekend. Hørsholmshallen will be filled with players of the future born 1998 and maybe some of them you will watch in a couple of years playing in the big leuagues.

Which team will take the trophy?

First place trophy in this years tournament is 61cm in height and on the 4th of September we will know which team that will go home as winners of the first anual Boys 98 Pre Season Tournament.

The Flemming Danielsen shootout

Another event on Saturday night of the tournament is the "The Flemming Danielsen shootout", where one player from each team enters the 3 pointcontest. Eventually there will be a winner of the first "Flemmning Danielsen shootout".

"I remember as a player coming over from Sweden to watch some danish cup finals and Flemming Danielsen looked like he could shot the ball from anywhere and I remember his killereyes he was all about winning the game and doing what was neccesery to achieve that.
He was a leader on the court and he could shoot the lights out and his game and winning attitude made the openents wish he was on their team instead."

Greatfull that another basketball great from Denmark loans his name to what i hope will be a great shootout in Hørsholmshallen on saturday night skills challenge.

Norrkoping Dolphins replaces Sabonis

After some stressfulls weeks its finally in place with a replacement for the late drop off in Sabonis.
Hørsholm and the  Boys 98 Pre Season Invitational welcomes Norrkoping Dolphins to the tournament and with all teams in place I can put the final touches to the gameschedule.

It will be annonced before saturday this coming weekend.

The Waseem Ahmad Challenge

Saturday night skills challenge has of course a 1 vs 1 contest that we call "The Waseem Ahmad Challenge", One player from each team will represent their team in the 1 vs 1 tournament.
Which player will be crowned The Waseem Ahmad Challenge Winner 2011?

"Waseem Ahmad was a great pointguard and I still remember the first time a saw his skills executed in a game it was actually practicegame between my team and his. He didn`t play like most nordic players did back then he was smooth and sneaky, great handles and quick like a cobra. He was to me Denmarks Isiah Thomas and a delight to watch in games, he had a presence on the court that only great players have."

The Adama Darboe skillstest

As a part of saturday night skills challenge one player from each team will represent the team in som competitions. One of these competitions is "The Adama Darboe skillstest" which will be a circuit (Somewhat like NBA`s) that will demand calm nervous and sharpness and of course quikness.

"Adama Darboe is the best active PG in denmark as I see it a threat from the outside hard to guard since he can attack the basket as well as shoot it or deliever that opening pass. He is truly a profesional on and outside the court and a perfect rolemodell for bball kids. He is a general on the court and he not only directs with talk, he simply shows the way for his team and thats why he is a winner"

I`m very greatful that Adama Darboe loans his name to this skillstest and I´m looking forward to a fun night with skills challenges on the 3rd of september after the last game for the night.
